Steve Aaron Named CEO of VIBE Media Group

VIBE Media Group, publisher of VIBE magazine and VIBE VIXEN, announced to that Steve Aaron, most recently group publishing director of Future, US, will serve as chief executive officer, a position which has been empty since April. Before working with Future, during which time he led the company’s effort to acquire Revolver magazine, Aaron served as SVP group publisher at American Media Inc. Prior to that, he spent 12 years with Hachette-Filipacchi Media. At HFMUS, he held positions at Premiere, which shut down its print edition this April, and at Elle Décor.

Aaron will replace Eric Gertler, who left VIBE in April to start a digital content company. Gertler, who stayed with VIBE Media less than a year, was installed by The Wicks Group of Companies, which took over the company in July 2006.
