Cooking Light Teams up With BJ's Wholesale Clubs for First Prepared-Food Offering

Friday, June 21, 2013

Cooking Light has just announced the launch of its first-ever prepared-foods product line, which will be available exclusively at BJ’s Wholesale Clubs. The product line officially launches with 14 ready-made items in four categories, Entrées, Stuffed Pastas, Take & Bake and Soups & Sides. The brand debuted four soup varieties in Fall 2012 as a test and is now expanding the line based upon sales performance and consumer feedback.
The products are based on recipes that were developed and tested in the Cooking Light Test Kitchens. The publications' editors and Test Kitchen experts also taste the food at every step and advise on formulations, while its dietitian keeps an eye on the nutritional numbers. "The result," says Cooking Light Editor Scott Mowbray, "is healthy, ready-made food we’re absolutely proud of.”
The Cooking Light products retail from $8.99 to over $20.00 and are available in the prepared foods section of all 199 BJ’s Wholesale Clubs located on the East Coast.  Cooking Light plans to expand the product line this fall with Flatbreads and new items in the Entrées, Stuffed Pastas, Take & Bake and Soups & Sides categories.
