Hollywood Reporter Names Mark Miller Deputy Editorial Director; Promotes Matt Belloni to Executive Editor

Mark Miller, director of editorial operations at Newsweek/Daily Beast, has been named deputy editorial director of The Hollywood Reporter. Miller will begin immediately and report to THR Editorial Director Janice Min. News director Matthew Belloni has been promoted to executive editor while Alison Brower, interim editor in chief of Seventeen, will be joining THR as special projects editor.
Miller (pictured) began his career at Newsweek (when the magazine was owned by The Washington Post Co.) where he climbed the ranks, becoming arts and entertainment correspondent from 1990 to 1991 and then, in 1992, political/White House correspondent. Miller went on to become national correspondent, then LA bureau chief, and later West Coast editor.
Matthew Belloni, an editor and reporter at THR since 2006, is being promoted to executive editor from news director. Belloni, a graduate of UC Berkeley and USC Law School, practiced entertainment law in Los Angeles before starting his career in journalism.
The publication has also hired Alison Brower, who most recently served as interim editor in chief of Seventeen magazine, as special projects editor. Brower's career has included serving as executive editor of Redbook from 2005 to 2010, and a stint as special projects editor for O Magazine and deputy editor of Glamour magazine.
