Hearst Invests in Design E-Tailer Dering HallFriday, October 14, 2011 Online design marketplace DeringHall.com launches this week supported by investment from Hearst Magazines. The site collects interior design products for a wide range DeringHall.com is a resource for both consumers and design professionals. Much of the portfolio previously has been available only to designer’s private clients the companies say. Within the user-friendly interface, a shopper can choose items by product type and by featured sales but they can also follow specific designers and shop their dedicated storefronts. Designer-specific e-newsletters are sent weekly as well. the sales site also has a wealth of editorial in its DH Guide section and social media tools for sharing those designer finds with friends. Hearst Magazines president David Carey said in a statement that the partnership helps the magazine deliver value to readers but also opens up new revenue streams for the brand clients. “When Dering Hall first shared their vision we were intrigued by their innovative approach to the design marketplace,” he said. “Each month, our shelter magazines feature gorgeous photography filled with beautiful furnishings that are largely custom and thus out of reach to our readers. Dering Hall brings those products to an online marketplace providing access to our readers for the first time. We are excited to be able to participate in this venture from the beginning."
