Karin Tracy Named Entertainment Weekly Publisher

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

Karin Tracy, People StyleWatch publisher since February 2010, was elevated to Entertainment Weekly publisher on Sept. 12 by Time Inc. Style and Entertainment Group and corporate chief revenue officer Paul Caine. Tracy succeeds Jason Wagenheim, who ended a 9½-month stint on Sept. 8 to rejoin Condé Nast as Glamour VP/publisher.

Tracy becomes the first female publisher in EW's 21½-year history. Equally distinctive is that she never had an advertising-down issue at People StyleWatchas she continued a "winning streak" started in April 2009 by predecessor Michelle Myers, who is now Lucky VP/publisher.

Tracy is a Lucky alumna, having served as associate publisher from 2006-2009 before joining InStyle (and Time Inc.) in the same capacity in July 2009.

Tracy was selected min "Sales Team Leader of the Year" at our June 2, 2011, Sales Executive of the Year awards along with People publisher Karen Kovacs and Martha Stewart Weddings publisher Amy Wilkins.

EW is my favorite magazine and deserves a publisher who will keep it fresh, exciting and... alive. We're counting on you.
