Fran Farrell Named Turnstile Publishing President/CEO

Francis X. ("Fran") Farrell, the past publisher of Men's Journal, National Geographic Adventure and Sporting News, is the new president/CEO of the Rance Crain-owned Turnstile Publishing. Orlando-based Turnstile is parent to Golfweek/Golfweek Custom Media, Art Calendar, The Art Wire, the Turfnet Media Network and Community Media Holdings. Latter includes The Seminole Voice and The Winter Park/Maitland Observer community newspapers. (Turnstile is separate from the Advertising Age-flagshipped Crain Communications.)
"Turnstile matches my interests," says Farrell. "I wanted to run niche media properties with endemic advertising, and I look forward to building the business."
Farrell succeeds Clayton Morris, who left the company. Bill Kupper, the 2000-2007 Businessweek president and a Turnstile consultant/board member, tells min that "Fran will be a great leadership addition to the Turnstile team."
Farrell will work mostly out of Orlando, but he is maintaining his residence in Yorktown Heights, N.Y.
