Bonnier Puts the 'Transworld' Stamp on Wakeboarding

Wakeboarding, which as the cover shows is a combination of water skiing and snowboarding, has been part of the sun-and-fun magazine culture of Winter Park, Fla.-based World Publications since its launch in 1993. More sun and fun came out of Carlsbad, Calif.-based Transworld Media with Transworld Skateboarding/Transworld Snowboarding/Transworld Motorcross, etc. With Bonnier Corp. owning both companies since 2006 and 2007, respectively, it made good marketing sense for Wakeboarding to "hang 10" with its West Coast brethren, so the redesigned TransWorld WakeBoarding will make its debut with the Nov./Dec. 2010 issue.

TW Wakeboarding will also increase its trim size and go to a higher quality paper stock to match the other titles. The nine-times-a-year TW WakeBoarding's 50,000 circulation makes it the group's smallest. Largest is the eight-times-a-year TW Snowboarding with 115,021 (ABC Fas-Fax, first-half 2010).
