InStyle.com Launches Fashion Game complete ensembles in style. The game presents the player with an outfit created by InStyle editors. The user must find the right accessory to finish the look. The game is both fun and informative. Editorial notes on why a look is matched well appear at the end of each round. The player receives points for achieving the right look. As you advance, your icon on the scoreboard evolves from a flat red shoe to a small heel to a full stiletto. The game is explained in a preview video at the site. The “Instant Stylist” game also lets the player click through on select item to purchase online. Inaugural sponsor Burberry is fully integrated into the experience with an outfit included in the game mix and featured at the end of every round. The Burberry sponsorship will run through October 15. "Gaming is so huge right now, we see it as a great way to engage users," Rosie Amodio, Instyle.com editor tells minonline. "We already know that users love to play and experiment with style, due to the success of our virtual 'Hollywood Makeover' tool, so we decided to translate one of our most popular in-book franchises, "Instant Style," into a challenging and entertaining game that can be refreshed every season." Instyle users like to play dress-up. In July alone, the Hollywood Maekover tool produced 10.6 million try-ons. Gaming of every sort is one of the stickiest and most popular genres of online content, especially among women. In recent years publishers have found massive amounts of traffic coming and staying at gaming sections in their sites. Ordinarily, however, these casual games sections are unconnected to the actual editorial missions of the site. In this next wave of game development we are seeing publishers look for ways to integrate the spirit of gaming with the core content of their sites.
