EE Times to Form EE Life Community The effort to integrate social media elements throughout the EE Times Group Web sites will be led by the newly-hired vp of community, Karen Field. Field has worked in the electronics media industry for two decades, at Reed Business Information’s Design News, Electronics Weekly and EDN. She specializes in creating content that invites community involvement. She is credited with inventing the Slack Variable comic strip at DesignNews.com as well as the Sherlock Ohms blog. The company says that it is creating the EE Life Community as a social network for the engineering world to share knowledge. The EE Times site received 310,000 unique visitors in December 2009 and generated 1.8 million page views, according to the Digital Boxscores from min's b2b.
