BREAKING NEWS & VIEWS
Neal Award Finalists Announced As is its wont, ABM divides the awards into three groups based on gross ad and circulation revenue. Among the big dogs ($7 million and above of revenue), ALM earned four finalist nods for American Lawyer’s editorial content. Several McGraw Hill titles also dominated the categories. In the $3 million to $7 million bracket Hanley Wood’s Architect got multiple finalist listings as did Advanstar, Reed and Crain titles. In the sub-$3 million bracket ALM again was recognized frequently for Corporate Counsel and Texas Lawyer. Hearst Business Media’s Motor magazine garnered two of the three slots for Best Technical Content. On the new media front, Forbes.com, Architectural Record and Scholastic Administrator were singled out for best use of video. Renewable Energy World, Progressive Farmer and American Vegetable Grower were recognized for Best Recurring Webcast and Architectural Record and Stitches were finalists for Best Use of Social Media. The ABM awards committee elected not to give an award this year for Best Body of Work by a Single Author nor for Best Use of Mobile. The 2010 Neal Awards will be presented to winners on March 11 in New York City at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The full roster of finalists is available at the ABM site.
