Spin Opens Content Licensing Site  new self-serve licensing business. The Spin Licensing Store lets anyone open an account and peruse the library of images ranging from Aerosmith to Lady GaGa.The catalog includes photos from two-and-a-half decades of music coverage, including both famous and emerging bands, live concerts, and magazine photo shoots. The licensing engine allows for requesting everything from print reuse to including the copyrighted images in blog posts. Spin says that it intends to release videos into the catalog, including live performances that have occurred at the Spin studios. The site lets companies search the catalog by content type (image and eventually video), by license type (rights managed, royalty fee or rights simple), and by date range and keyword.
