Tyrangiel to Edit BusinessWeek
Tuesday, November 17, 2009

The new Bloomberg regime at BusinessWeek has pulled Time magazine deputy managing editor Josh Tyrangiel over to serve as the magazine’s editor. Tyrangiel has also been the managing editor for the Time.com site, which won the Magazine Publishers Association’s award as Best Web Site under his leadership.

Tyrangiel will report to Normal Pearlstine, Bloomberg’s chief content officer. As the former editor-in-chief at Time Inc., Pearlstine says he came to know Tyrangiel. “Josh is recognized within Time Inc. and its parent Time Warner Inc. as an ‘editor’s editor’ and a natural leader,” Pearlstine said in the announcement made this morning. Tyrangiel has also worked at Rolling Stone, Vibe and MTV.
