BREAKING NEWS & VIEWS
Rodale CEO Stepping Down In a statement from Rodale released this morning, Murphy said that after "a wonderful decade at Rodale," he has decided not to renew his contract and is pursuing other interests. Murphy moved from Disney Publishing to succeed Bob Teufel as Rodale president and COO in 2000, and he was promoted to CEO in 2002. As CEO, Murphy led the revamping of Rodale brands including Men’s Health (it was he who hired editor-in-chief David Zinczenko in August 2000) and Prevention, as well as the 2005 launch of Women’s Health. Maria Rodale began working at the company in 1987; her roles included a stint as director of strategy. Presently she is editor-in-chief of Rodale.com. As we reported on minonline, Rodale is one of the magazine publishers on the leading edge of paid online content development. In 2008, ad pages in Rodale's print books declined by 4.57% compared with the previous year. If you have breaking news to share please contact Steve Smith at ssmith@accessintel.com COMMENTS
