ContentNext Slows Growth, ‘Adjusts’ Staff The company was expanding before and after its acquisition last year by Guardian News and Media Limited; former Washingtonpost.Newsweek top executive Caroline Little recently took over as CEO. Even into this hard-hit year the company was hiring researchers and journalists. Ali would not say how many employees were affected by the decisions or which products were being scaled back. “Our core business is still in good shape,” he says. ContentNext has developed an events business and recently reinvigorated its research line. Ali says that the new Web site has been well received by readers and advertisers. ContentNext was founded in 2002 with the flagship publication paidContent.org. It expanded its range over the years to produce mocoNews.net, paidContent.co.uk and contentSutra.com.
