Bonnier Expected to Nab Five HFMUS Titles

Bonnier Corp. is expected to acquire Popular Photography, Flying, Boating, American Photo and Sound & Vision magazines from Hachette Filipacchi in coming weeks. A spokesperson from Bonnier confirmed to minonline that a deal involving those HFMUS titles is in the works, but “we don’t anticipate a final resolution for a couple of weeks.”

The Hachette enthusiast books have been for sale for months as HFMUS looks to peel off titles from a portfolio focused mainly on women, fashion and auto. HFMUS went through a round of salary cuts earlier this year to save costs.

Bonnier has been collecting niche and enthusiast titles for years, including Field & Stream, Popular Science, and Parenting, which it acquired from Time4Media in 2007.

HFMUS did not respond to a request for comment.
