Shape
Shape magazine succeeded in becoming a woman’s constant companion in 2009, reaching far beyond its pages to find a place in all of the nooks and crannies of her everyday life. Readers already see themselves in the monthly’s series of success stories and by seeing how the readers themselves achieved their fitness goals.
A new and highly successful tour series, Shape’s Bikini Body Tour, brought the famous Bikini Body Workout franchise on the road and attracted 20 sponsors in its inaugural run. And the online virtual trainer has helped over 90,000 women tone and trim.
The mobile extensions of Shape have been especially interesting this year. The six iPhone apps include the creative LBD (Little Black Dress) app that includes video and workout tips for looking great in that fashion classic. Other apps extended Shape’s reach into the gym itself, with real workouts users could follow. Shape magazine stuck with its readers in 2009 and discovered new ways to help out at every moment of the day.
