![]() 21 Most Intriguing: Wilma Jordan President, The Jordan, Edmiston Group, Inc.Wilma Jordan has been a power player in media ever since putting together a student buyout team for the then-on-the-skids Esquire in 1979. After running the magazine for seven years, Jordan and Co sold the book for an extreme profit. Success (and extreme profit) have followed Jordan wherever she's gone. Since June 2006, Jordan's Jordan Edmiston Group Inc., top niche media bank, has closed 34 deals - by our count, by far the most in the magazine publishing space.Other highlights for Jordan this year include the retirement of Mike Marchesano, former CEO of VNU Business Media (now Nielsen Business Media), which helped bulk up JEGI's already-solid middle market transaction team. Jordan is also proud of the launch, wih Outsell, of the "A View of the Future for CEOs and MDs" event, which is, according to Jordan, "the first truly cross-media event... B2B, B2C, STM, marketing services, PE, etc." The event was held for the first time in Kiawah on November 11.
