Like any great designer reinventing a classic, the WWD.com team augmented its best assets and added new, current elements when it came time to redesign the venerable fashion daily’s Web site.

Their goals were threefold: provide a platform to handle and expose around-the-clock breaking news coverage, augment ease of use and navigation, and provide readers with clearly defined business tools.

“We know WWD.com is an important research tool for business and education alike, says Dan Shar, vice president/GM, digital, Digital Fairchild Fashion Media. “We’ve set out to create tools to help the cause.”

New tools include the WWD directory of information on companies, designers, and other people in the industry a robust image search and article finder, and a career service and events calendar.
