Robert Ames, vice president & general manager, Digital Automotive Group, Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. (HFM U.S. www.hfmus.com ) is responsible for the business and operational management of Hachette’s Digital Automotive Group. He was promoted to that newly-created position in June 2007 when the company bought Jumpstart Automotive Media, www.jumpstartautomotivemedia.com, the leading automotive publisher rep firm that partners with automotive web publishers to create the Internet’s largest and highest quality community of car shoppers. In addition to Jumpstart, the HFM U.S. Digital Group includes CARandDRIVER.com, ROADandTRACK.com, and CYCLEWORLD.com. Before that, Ames was VP digital marketing for HFM U.S.’s Men’s Enthusiast Network from 2004 to 2007. He first joined Hachette in April 2001 as general manager/online for the company’s automotive websites. Prior to joining Hachette, he served as vice president of marketing and merchandise for CarParts.com, an online retailer of automotive parts and accessories.
