Jack Haire Named Parade CEO

By Steve Cohn

In a mild surprise, Condé Nast/Advance chairman S.I. Newhouse Jr. went outside his corporate sphere with the April 16 hiring of longtime Time Inc. executive Jack Haire to succeed the retiring Walter Anderson at Parade on July 1.  Haire’s 1978-2006 Time Inc. career included 1993-1998 and 1998-2005 stints as Time publisher and Fortune/Money Group president, respectively, and he was Time Inc. executive vp/corporate sales when he left the company in January 2006 following a restructuring by president/ceo Ann Moore.   That was a major surprise (min, December 19, 2005).

Through his Haire Media Ventures consultancy (since 2006), Haire’s clients included CNETQuigo Technologies and Hallmark Cards. More to come in the April 20 min.
