Glamour Puts Zen Into Its Marketing Zip

On June 10, the Glamour sales and marketing staff welcomed a "packed crowd" of clients to a special night of yoga instruction in a New York studio from a master: Mandy Ingber (pictured), whose students include Jennifer Aniston and Kate Beckinsale.

This was an evening full of relaxation, and when it came time for the swag, the guests–who included staff members from Dolce & Gabbana and PhD–received a copy of Ingber’s best-selling Yogalosophy: 28 Days to the Ultimate Mind-Body Makeover (Avalon Publishing Group).  Each copy was inscribed with either You already have a perfect body or Love your body through yoga.

The deep-breathing may be making a business difference, because the Bill Wackermann-led Glamour closed July 2013 up 20.44% in ad pages. August is +28% and the yet-to-close September is projected to up by double-digit percentages as well.
