“I am bursting,” says Laurel Touby, founder, CEO & Cyberhostess at Mediabistro, on the sale of the company—that she started in 1993 and built with blood, sweat, alcohol, and a pink boa—to Jupitermedia for $23 million.

We reported in min’s b2b of 11/6/06 in a profile of Touby on rumors of Mediabistro’s possible sale:

“Recently, it was rumored that Mediabistro was for sale. The new rumor is that Mediabistro is not for sale.”

(Go here for the full article.)

Rumors, however, had totally died down until the announcement today of the acquisition.
