SELF Honors Women Doing Good

SELF magazine is more than your go-to-guide for all things fitness. The magazine and its staff are also concerned with the good you do beyond your own self. On June 2, 2009, at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City, SELF magazine, along with sponsors Burt’s Bees and Kashi, honored three dynamic women at its Women Doing Good Awards ceremony, now in its second year. Lindsay Guetschow, Beth Ann Levendoski and Erin Sprague were honored for their selfless works in the issue of global warming, the promotion of growing healthy foods and humanitarianism, respectively. The women each received $10,000 for their respective charities. The ceremony was hosted by Today correspondent Hoda Kotb, who jokingly said she is a huge fan of SELF because all the other magazines make you feel fat—plus SELF empowers women.
