Jeff Lewis Wins House Beautiful Kitchen of the Year Lewis presented this year’s contemporary but warm kitchen style at an event at Rockefeller Plaza on Monday, kicking off the Mayor Bloomberg-sanctioned “House Beautiful Kitchen of the Year Week.” Upon receiving the official document from the mayor’s office, Lewis semi-seriously asked his assistant Jenni Pulos to “check the seal.” HB editor-in-chief Newell Turner called the room “a very different space. We are starting to look at HB through the lens of contemporary.” With 26 sponsors, the kitchen was not without its pricey high-end gadgets, but also included eco-friendly uses of salvaged elm wood floors.
