'Food & Wine' Burns Off that Food & WineFood & Wine is a great epicurean magazine. Especially great are those delicacies over the holiday season, but that meant a few extra calories to burn, so VP/publisher (since Nov. 2007) Chris Grdovic hosted a "Team Building Spin" .JPG) for staff members Jan. 4 in New York's Spin Cycle. The indoor facility specializes in exercycling, and we know that Grdovic's boss, American Express Publishing Co. president/ceo (since June 2000) Ed Kelly, got a good workout, because there he was--sweat towel and all--with Grdovic (left) and instructor Melanie Griffith. The bike was apropos for Kelly, because to paraphrase the great cycling movie, AmEx Publishing had a Breaking Away 2011 with, per Kelly, "double-digit percentage ad-revenue and bottom-line growth." Grdovic says that the workout was also "about [us] finding focus and inspiration for 2012 and working as a team."
