Brides' Operation Dream Dress Winner Gets Star Treatment When the Operation Dream Dress challenge was announced in February, the magazine received hundreds of sketches for potential designs from budding designers. Only the five most captivating and unique designs were selected in a nationwide vote to be critiqued by an all-star panel at a private Brides event. The event was hosted by Bratten, and the celebrity panel included Austin Scarlett (Project Runway contestant and recent Kenneth Pool bridal designer), Hilary Rhoda (supermodel and face of Estée Lauder’s “Beautiful”), Rachel Leonard (fashion director of Brides), Britt Aboutaleb (associate editor of Fashionista.com) and Dan Rentillo (fashion director of David’s Bridal).
