House Beautiful is known for its beautiful home designs, but now the Hearst mag has created some beauty specifically of the culinary kind. The home decorating magazine has created the ultimate kitchen in the heart of New York City with its premiere “Kitchen of the Year” at New York’s Rockefeller Center in July. Created by top designer Christopher Peacock, the “Kitchen of the Year” demonstrated beautiful design and innovative ways to make kitchens more personal, comfortable and technologically advanced. The space was open to the public and was a showcase of kitchen styles, products and entertaining. Enclosed in a glass conservatory on Rockefeller Plaza, the “Kitchen of the Year” brought the magazine to life with 1,000 square-feet of state-of-the-art culinary design and an additional 500 square-feet of outdoor entertaining space.

Cathleen P. Black, president, Hearst Magazines; “Kitchen of the Year” designer Christopher Peacock; Kate Kelly Smith, VP/publisher, House Beautiful; and Stephen Drucker, editor-in-chief, House Beautiful.
