We stumbled upon (literally, call me and I'll tell you the story) the amazing opening night gala in Minneapolis last Friday night (May 16th). It turned out to be the 2008 ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) Showcase home party presented by Mpls. St. Paul Magazine. The gala kicked off the Showcase Home tour event (it runs from May 17- June 15), which featured Twin Cities top designers who transformed the Lake Harriet residence of advertising icon Pat Fallon into a flowing, interconnected, family-friendly home. They do the event every year, using teams of designers and craftsmen affiliated with ASID, to transform a prominent Twin Cities home.

70's style icon Cheryl Tiegs hosted the event, though we were too transfixed by the changing lights in the pool and the upstairs bathroom that was bigger than my entire NY apt. to notice much else. In the end, the 7,300 square foot house was beautiful and we were so glad to have...discovered it.
