Seems like Valerie Bertinelli has been riding high on fame's wave lately. Looking svelte in her form-fitting black dress (thanks to her much ballyhooed Jenny Craig regimen) and impossibly younger than her 47 years, Bertinelli was aplomb and hard-won experience incarnate at a luncheon Ladies Home Journal held at Midtown's Beacon restaurant in her honor on Wednesday March 13. April Cover girl Bertinelli was on hand to answer questions on a wide variety of topics from  her erstwhile 20-year union to rocker Eddie Van Halen to her presidential pick (Hillary in the primary, possibly Obama for the big vote). Topically for New Yorkers, she discussed her musings on the disgraced New York Governor Eliot Spitzer sex scandal, expressing her disgust with the former governor but noting that there are more important issues to worry about by stating, “I care less about Eliot Spitzer’s d—k and more about healthcare."

Bertinelli enjoyed discussing her life's journey, her favorite TV talk show hosts (could she be looking to join the ranks?) and her new best-selling book “Losing It—And Gaining My Life Back One Pound at a Time,” which chronicles her personal struggles.
