70 years old this past July, Bill Cosby still has it. The alcohol-lubricated crowd at Esquire North on Monday (11/20) hung on his every word as he took the stage, stumping for Village Academies, an organization that builds public charter schools in Harlem. (Still doing it for the kids: there was a rumor going around that Cosby is getting paid in pudding for this one.)
But it wasn't all him. At every op to laud someone or something (photo or not), Cosby made sure to mention Esquire, saying at one point to the crowd after arranging a photo, "I need an O'Malley." Luckily, there was one in the crowd. O'Malley complied (see above). For the children.
Note on Esquire North
The min team caught up with a developer responsible for the new Harlem building's existence. Apparently, last month, the penthouse was sold to "a New York family with children" for $8.5 million. Two parking spots were purchased for $150,000 as well.
We also caught up with Esquire AP/marketing Stephen Jacoby, who told us that the Esquire North program this year was a profitable one for the magazine. |

A small gathering in one of Esquire North's lounges watches Bill Cosby, enrapt. |
