Five group publishers -- Bauer, Mansueto, National Geographic Society, Rodale, Weider (now a subdivision of American Media Inc.) -- were cumulatively up in 2008-versus-2007 ad pages. June looks impressive now, because the second-half differentials have been disastrous with the monthlies' likely to maintain their double-digit-percentage down pattern through December and beyond.  Nine of the group publishers were -10% or below through the first half, and they are likely to have plenty of company in our year-end compilation in early 2009.
