Latina Media Ventures chairman Ed Lewis announced the appointments of Galina Espinoza and Lauren Michaels as co-presidents of the Latina-flagshipped company on April 30.  Espinoza is the editorial specialist; she is doubling as editorial director and assuming the responsibilities of editor-in-chief (since September 2007) Mimi Valdés, who is leaving with the restructuring.

Espinoza most recently was People senior editor, and she was Latina deputy editor from 2003-2005.

Michaels is the business specialist, with the co-presidency being an addition to publisher (also since September 2007). Previous Latina president was Cindy Lewis, who left the magazine several months ago. Lewis and Michaels were past colleagues at Hearst Magazines.

Latina was co-founded in 1996 by Ed Lewis when he was president of Essence, which has been Time Inc.-owned since 2005.
