Top 5: Enthusiast Titles are Guitar Pickin' Music to Advertisers' EarsTuesday, October 11, 2011 min's IMS/The Auditor prepared Enthusiast chart reveals that the Medford, Ore.-based musical-instruments retailer, Musician's Friend, provided quite a "jam session" for the guitar-centric music magazines (such as Guitar Player (+23.04%) in buying 38 ad pages in first-half 2011 versus a measly one for the same period last year. A near ditto for Japanese instruments manufacturer Roland Corp., which more than doubled its business in this category. Rolling Stone got all 19 ad pages from first-time advertiser L'Oréal, and corralled the 15 from first-timer and cell-phone manufacturer HTC Corp.Below are the top 5 music titles in the music category sorted by highest ad page gains. ![]() And in the Hunting/Fishing category, it seems like Ford and Chrysler are making big advertising strides in these popular sporting magazines. Field & Stream (+29.47%) and Gun World (64.08%) take the top two slots in our chart below.
