Media brands can now offer huge portions of their assets on Facebook, to the point that it is now a valid publishing platform. It’s early 2011—do you know what are the best ways to use Facebook to syndicate your content, build community and move your media brand and advertiser partners to the head of the pack?

Join us on Feb. 24 for this one-day Facebook Boot Camp for Media Brands that will break down all of the revolutionary social network’s potentialities for media brands, show you who has taken best advantage of it so far and lay out tactics that will help you lead your team to new audiences that want to engage with your content and with the personalities behind that content.

Without an effective Facebook strategy, media brands are missing an opportunity to identify and reach key audience members, build communities, establish customer trust and—better yet—affect the bottom line. Facebook has 500 million users, and counting. Among them are countless potential fans of your content who may never visit your Web site, much less subscribe to a print magazine. This one-day Facebook Boot Camp for Media Brands will show you how to bridge the gap and take your brand and content to new levels of engagement.

At this one-day workshop you will learn how to:

  • Determine how much content you should put on Facebook and how much you should put on your own site, where you may be able to monetize it better.
  • Decide if Facebook should be your sole online community, and how best to manage that community.
  • Understand what is working when it comes to driving traffic on your Facebook page, and which strategies would work best for your particular media brand when it comes to driving traffic.
  • Create best practices for handling social media workflow internally: Who’s posting, how often and who should be the official voice of the brand?
  • Establish advertising partnerships and marketing services on Facebook.
  • Use Facebook to track and know your audience better.
  • Repurpose editorial content for Facebook.
  • Listen to your Facebook fans to help guide your editorial strategy.
  • Use Facebook to drive paid content subscriptions.
  • Leverage contests and games on Facebook.

This essential Boot Camp will show you how to leverage Facebook as a publishing and community platform—and change the way your media brand is perceived by your current and potential audience, and by advertisers.

The workshop setting allows you to interact with your peers, get your questions answered and build a Facebook strategy that you can take back to the office and implement right away.

About the Trainers

Greg RothGreg Roth
Vice President
Buddy Media University

When Facebook opened its platform to outside developers in August of 2008, Greg Roth foresaw the impact that the social network would have on the Internet and the world at large. He began his role at Buddy Media as Social Insights and Innovations Manager, creating concepts for viral applications on Facebook for brands like HBO, New Balance and Sea World.

Greg's role at Buddy Media evolved as he became Director of Business Development and, eventually, VP of Buddy Media University, a hands-on certification program designed to educate and develop clients and partners on the features and functionality of the Buddy Media Platform. Greg analyzes brand presences on Facebook and offers strategic consulting on the direction of each client's social media campaigns. Greg has designed Buddy Media University's curriculum to pinpoint and solve the most critical issues presented to media brands and marketers leveraging the power of Facebook to drive their efforts.

Greg began his working life as a novelist, screenwriter and high school English teacher. When the opportunity arose to transition into a career in digital marketing, Greg jumped at the chance.  He started off at Acronym Media, an Advertising Age Top Ten Search Marketing Agency. Greg spearheaded copywriting efforts for SEO campaigns and provided Web usability consulting for Fortune 500 clients like SAP and Humana.
