min's 2009 Integrated Marketing Awards and Sweet 16: Celebrating Resilience

Oh, what a year it’s been. With the economy continuing to wreak havoc on the magazine advertising ecosystem, the industry has been convulsed by double-digit ad-page drops, massive downsizings and closings of publications that once showed great promise.
As budgets shrank, marketers were forced to limit their campaigns to two or three platforms as opposed to four or five. Yet even under these difficult conditions, creativity remained uncompromised; and innovation, as packaged by magazine marketers and clients, persevered and prevailed. New ideas were the driving engine behind most of the past year’s most memorable integrated efforts.
In light of such challenges, min was especially proud to toast the winners of its 2009 Integrated Marketing Awards at a special event at New York’s Grand Hyatt on Sept. 16. Sharing the stage with the IMA winners were min’s 2009 Sweet 16 honorees, a group composed of the industry’s leading media buyers and brand marketers who champion magazine brands. In a climate of digital-centric initiatives and media fragmentation, their influence cannot be underestimated. —Iris Dorbian
