Allison Arieff, who in 2005 led the San Francisco-based, six-year-old Dwell to the 100,000-to-250,000 circulation General Excellence National Magazine Award and won the praise of then-Time managing editor Jim Kelly (min April 18, 2005), left last week in the aftermath of president/publisher (since 2001) Michela O'Connor Abrams' restructuring to "strengthen all our platforms": Dwell, DWELL.COM, Dwell on Design conferences, and Dwell Homes by Empyrean (prefab housing).
